Children who are abused need to work through their emotional pain and trauma.  To help them with the healing process, the DeKalb County CAC provides individual counseling services for young victims and support group meetings for their non-offending parents.

During 2010 there were 3,979 individual therapy sessions reaching 930 children.

Therapists provide therapy to abuse victims and at-risk students in DeKalb County and Fort Payne City Schools.

These services are partially funded by DeKalb County and Fort Payne City Schools At-Risk Funds, and Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
